Barcelona have confirmed that they have finally reached agreement with Real Zaragoza over defender Gabriel Milito.

The 26-year-old centre-half is currently with the Argentina squad at the Copa America but he had already agreed personal terms with the Catalan giants before he left.

Now after protracted talks with Zaragoza, Barca have finally negotiated a fee and the club's technical secretary Txiki Beguiristain confirmed that Milito is set to pen a four-year contract at the Nou Camp.

Beguiristain was obviously delighted to have finally been able to bring in the quality of Milito and said: "Milito was the best option. We know him well.

"He has played in the Spanish league for four years at a very high level. He is a leader both on the field and in the dressing room as well as being a great professional with so many qualities.

"He is aggressive, quick, strong in the air and has a good left foot."

The former Independiente star will become Barca's fourth new arrival this summer, alongside Thierry Henry, Eric Abidal and Yaya Toure, and he is set to undergo a medical when his involvement in Venezuela has come to an end.
