Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has revealed his delight at signing Norwich City defender Leon Barnett on loan for the rest of the season.
Barnett has been drafted in by the Championship leaders who are keen to boost their options at the back ahead of the promotion run in.
Mackay was pleased to get the Canaries centre-back on board and believes the 27-year-old will act as good cover for the likes of Mark Hudson and Ben Turner.
He told the club's official website: "Leon is an experienced defender and will add quality to our ranks over the coming weeks.
"He's quick, aggressive and a combative player - an excellent professional who has been involved in promotion pushes and is a good lad too.
"I've no doubt he'll fit in very well with the squad and I would like to thank Chris Hughton and Norwich City for their help in bringing Leon in, it's very much appreciated."
Barnett made his last Premier League appearance in the 4-3 away win at Swansea in December.
