Norwich City have recalled central defender Leon Barnett from Cardiff City to cover during an injury and suspension crisis.
Barnett played a key role at centre-back for the Bluebirds after being drafted in on loan, making eight appearances as they clinched promotion and the Championship title.
The 27-year-old, who had previously been promoted with West Brom and Norwich, will now miss out on the celebrations after this Saturday's home match against Bolton Wanderers.
Injuries to Norwich defenders Michael Turner and Steven Whittaker have prompted manager Chris Hughton, who sent a scout to watch Barnett in action for Cardiff against Burnley last weekend, to recall him before the end of the season.
The loss of Ryan Bennett, who has been charged by the FA with misconduct, is also a factor in the decision.
Barnett initially signed for Cardiff on a 28-day loan, while that was later extended to the end of this season.
