Canaries land Spurs ace

Norwich have moved into the transfer market to sign Spurs defender Troy Archibald-Henville on a season-long loan deal.

Canaries boss Glenn Roeder has been on the look out for a new defender to act as cover while Gary Doherty is out with an ankle injury and has swooped for the 19-year-old.

The central defender is very highly-rated and skippered the Spurs reserves last season. The youngster was even on the bench for a couple of first-team games against Wigan and Arsenal and should be a good addition to the Canaries squad.

Archibald-Henville is expected to go straight into the squad for tomorrow's Championship opener against Coventry.
