Canaries starlet set for Swindon

Norwich City teenager Jacob Murphy is set to join League One side Swindon Town on loan.

The 18-year-old, who has been on the fringes of the Canaries first-team squad this season, is tipped to have a bright future but boss Chris Hughton wants to send the winger out on loan to get some regular action.

He made his senior debut for Norwuch as a substitute in the 1-1 FA Cup draw with Fulham last month but is set to join the Robins when the emergency loan window opens this weekend.

Swindon boss Mark Cooper is confident of securing the teenager's services and hopes the deal goes through in time for him to feature against Port Vale this weekend.

He told BBC Sport: "I think that's one we've almost done. We can't sign anyone until Saturday, but I think it's more or less agreed."

Murphy and his twin brother Josh were members of Norwich's FA Youth Cup-winning side last season but so far Josh has been involved more in the first team, making 11 appearances this season while Jacob only has that solitary Cup run-out to his name.
