Chris Hughton has rubbished reports claiming he is trying to sign Robbie Keane on a short-term loan deal next month.
The Canaries chief was reportedly planning to take the 32-year-old Republic of Ireland veteran for a six-week spell during the close-season in the United States, similar to last season when he scored three goals in seven appearances for Aston Villa.
However, despite working with Keane when the pair were at Tottenham Hotspur, Hughton insists there is no truth in the speculation.
"That's the first time I've heard that one actually. I do know Robbie, but there's no truth in the story," he said.
Villa, who are now managed by former Norwich boss Paul Lambert, have also been linked with a swoop to take Keane, while QPR's former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is also thought to be interested in taking him on a short-term loan deal.
But Keane, who has recently helped Los Angeles Galaxy to MLS Cup glory, has hinted that he would be happy to use the break to recover from the knocks picked up during the campaign.
