Chris Hughton is reportedly looking at taking Halifax Town's prolific striker Lee Gregory to Norwich in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a good start to the season with the West Yorkshire outfit with 12 goals to date as they look to make a return to the Football League from the Skrill Conference Premier League.
And, following reports that MK Dons boss Karl Robinson was interested in signing Gregory in the New Year after his good performance against his League One side in their FA Cup clash earlier this month, it is being claimed that Hughton could be ready to take a gamble on the forward at Premier League level.
On Gregory, Robinson said: "I knew before the game Lee would be a threat to us. He's a talented player and we will be watching him over the next few weeks. I think he could play for us."
Whether Hughton will firm up his reported interest remains to be seen as it would be a surprise if he was to rely on a current non-league forward to score the goals to pull his side away from the relegation dogfight in the second half of the season.
