Chris Hughton has warned Norwich fans not to expect any big-money signings coming into the club in the January transfer window.

The Canaries chief has given fringe striker Chris Martin the green light to join League One side Swindon on Thursday, while James Vaughan is also enjoying a temporary stint at Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.

It has resulted in reports linking Hughton with a move for a new striker with Arsenal forward Marouane Chamakh, Maribor striker Robert Beric and West Ham hitman Carlton Cole all linked.

However, while the former Newcastle and Birmingham boss is expecting a hectic time with agents trying to get players deals at Carrow Road, Hughton is not looking to do anything unless something turns up which he feels he cannot turn down.

He added on Evening News 24: "I can guarantee what will happen in the next few weeks is that the agents will be on the phone and it will be about players who are available and perhaps clubs who want to take your players. That is normal this time of the year and what each window brings to us.

"I think you have to keep your options open. Sometimes there is a nice surprise, but I have to say I have been delighted with what I have here."
