Roeder hopes for injury relief

NorwichNorwich boss Glenn Roeder says he hopes to have a number of key players back for the trip to Bristol City next time out.

Midfielder Matty Pattison (hamstring), defender John Kennedy (ankle) and Gary Doherty (ankle) are closing in on a return and Roeder is grateful for the fact they do not have a game this weekend because of the internationals.

"It's not training ground injuries where you can say 'What are we doing in training that's causing these injuries?' All these injuries are happening in the battle of matches and that's where you need to be particularly lucky not to pick up injuries," Roeder revealed.

"I'm quite happy that we now haven't got a game next week, which will give us a chance to get some of these players fit and ready for Bristol City."
