Turkish club Galatasaray have now confirmed that Norwich are close to signing former Bolton striker Johan Elmander.
The 32-year-old Sweden international, who has plenty of Premier League experience following a three-year spell at the Reebok Stadium between 2008 and 2011, has been told his chances of first-team football at the Turk Telekom Arena would be limited this season.
He had been linked with Championship side Nottingham Forest before Canaries boss Chris Hughton entered the fray despite having already signed Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfswinkel this summer.
And Galatasaray technical director Bulent Tulun has now revealed that Elmander is on the verge of moving to Carrow Road.
He told sportexpressen.se, the sports website of Swedish daily newspaper Expressen: "I can confirm Johan is moving to England. We have agreed with Johan, his new club Norwich and his agent Anders (Wallsten). We wish Johan the best of luck in the future."
