Simon Whaley is free to get himself fixed up with another club after his contract with Norwich was terminated by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old, who was brought to the club by former boss Bryan Gunn, has struggled to make an impact at Carrow Road and has been released from his two-year contract.
The winger will now be able to sign for a club outside of the transfer window and will be hoping to get a contract elsewhere as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, it was a quiet transfer deadline for boss Paul Lambert, who feared he may have to fend off a bid from Hull for Wes Hoolahan but the offer did not come in as the Tigers managed to keep hold of Stephen Hunt.
