Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies admitted his side were fortunate to extend their unbeaten run to nine games after a 1-1 draw at Burnley.
Lewis McGugan scored an injury-time penalty to cancel out Junior Stanislas' second-half opener.
The visitors played some attractive football and remain in the top six, but looked every inch a team playing their second match in three days.
"I apologise to both sets of supporters for what was a terrible game," said Davies. "It was a terrible spectacle for anybody to pay money and come and witness from start to finish.
"The energy and the passion we showed is not what we expect from our team, but I was forced to make changes.
"I did feel confident that we'd get a goal, and in the end it's a fantastic point but a terrible, terrible spectacle."
