Davies extends Forest stay

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has signed a new contract with the club until June 2017.

Davies returned for a second spell in charge of the Reds in February and oversaw a tremendous turnaround in fortunes which saw the east midlands club narrowly miss out on the Championship play-offs on the final day of last season.

The Scot, who guided Forest to successive play-off campaigns during his first stint at the City Ground, has continued his good work this season.

The Reds have won six of their opening 11 league matches and sit fourth in the table going into this weekend's home match against Bournemouth.

Forest chairman and owner Fawaz Al Hasawi told the club's official website, nottinghamforest.co.uk: "This is a fantastic day for Nottingham Forest.

"Billy and I have the same long-term vision for the club and I am absolutely delighted that he has agreed to sign an extension to his contract.

"I look forward with great excitement to working alongside him for many years to come as we aim to bring success back to this magnificent club."
