Billy Davies is reportedly aiming to take a sixth striker to Nottingham Forest as he aims to boost the side's goals output next term.

The Forest boss has already swooped to sign David McGoldrick and Dele Adebola this week, while Robert Earnshaw, Joe Garner and Nathan Tyson are also vying for places in attack at the City Ground.

However, Davies is now thought to want the green light from the board to make a new striker acquisition.

Davies told the Nottingham Evening Post: "They are the ones that fire you to the top of the league. We have five and I would still like another one.

"The board know that and have been very supportive to the suggestions I have made over the last couple of weeks.

"We have to make sure we don't need to play Nathan Tyson three times in a week. We have to make sure Robert Earnshaw does not do that."
