Defender Brendan Maloney has left Nottingham Forest to sign for arch rivals Notts County on a six-month loan deal.
Forest has agreed a deal with the Magpies which will see the 20-year-old move away from The City Ground to Meadow Lane for 6 months.
The Magpies manager Ian McParland has been looking for a right-back for quite some time, due to the departure of Phil Picken and Adam Tann.
The Magpies boss told the clubs official website: "Brendan is a very promising young player and he has been a target of mine for a while, In fact I tried to get him last season but we couldn't finalise a deal. It's nice to have finally landed him and I believe we have a player on our hands who is more than capable of performing at this level. When I saw him play for Forest's first-team last season I thought he was one of their best players. I have always kept my eye on him and I am really pleased to have him on board."
