Former City ace on trial

Nottm ForestFormer Coventry City player Stephen Hughes has been invited to attend Nottingham Forest's training camp in Germany this week.

The former Arsenal and Everton midfielder was released by Coventry City at the end of June because Hughes was unable to agree a new deal at the Ricoh Arena.

Hughes will link up with Forest on their training trip to Germany where boss Colin Calderwood will asses whether or not he fits the Forest mould.

He said: "We'll be having meetings to discuss targets and objectives for the season and on the physical side of things we'll be working on their conditioning, so they can go up a level."

Calderwood also took youth players Joe Heath and James Reid with the squad to Germany.
