New boy speaks out

Nottm ForestForest new boy Joe Garner admits it was a wrench to leave Carlisle but says he could not turn down a move to the City Ground.

The youngster joined Forest in a deal worth £1.1million deal and although he is delighted to have completed the move he also feels sorry to have left the Cumbrians.

"I had a fantastic 18 months at Carlisle and will never forget the backing I received during my time at Brunton Park," Garner told the club's official website.

"It was an extremely difficult decision to leave the club but, at this stage of my career, I simply couldn't turn down the chance to play in the Championship.

"I would have loved to have played at a higher level with Carlisle but unfortunately, despite coming so close, it wasn't to be."
