Notts County will hold a pitch inspection on Friday afternoon ahead of their npower League One fixture against Sheffield United.

The groundstaff at Meadow Lane have had frost covers on the pitch since late last week - doubling up in many areas - in a bid to keep the freezing conditions at bay.

The club say much of the pitch remains soft and has stood up well to the conditions but there are areas of concern that have prompted a 1pm inspection, in agreement with the Football League.

Local referee Nigel Smith will conduct the inspection.
