Oldham have received a boost with the news Connor Brown's knee injury is not as bad as first feared.
The right-back faced being ruled out for the rest of the season having sustained the complaint in the club's 3-1 win over Port Vale last month.
Yet surgery discovered cartilage damage as opposed to a cruciate ligament injury and Brown is now looking at between six to eight weeks on the sidelines instead of six to eight months.
"When I found out it was only the cartilage which had been damaged, it was the best-case scenario and a massive relief," Brown told the club's official website.
