Dickov: We merited all three points

Paul Dickov thought his Oldham side deserved to win at Sheffield United despite rescuing a 1-1 draw seven minutes into injury time.

Striker Matt Smith side-footed in Jose Baxter's cross at the death after Nick Blackman had put the Blades ahead from the penalty spot following Jean Yves-Mvoto's adjudged foul on Dave Kitson.

Dickov was unhappy with the award of the spot-kick and also felt Latics midfielder Jonathan Ground's first-half effort, which was disallowed for offside, should have stood.

He said: "The equaliser was nothing less than we deserved and actually, straight after the game, my first thoughts are that we deserved to win the game.

"I thought we had more attempts than them, I thought we looked a threat every time we went forward and defensively I can't remember us having anything to do.

"But it's one thing deserving it and another going actually and getting it. First half especially I thought we moved the ball really well. We should've had a goal (Ground's disallowed effort), I thought it at the time, I've been told by people who have seen it on the live feed that it's a goal as well."
