John Sheridan says he is keen to sign Leeds defender Sean Gregan on a permanent basis after impressing on loan.
The former West Brom and Preston ace appears to have no long-term future at Elland Road, with the player set to thrash out a financial settlement on the final six months of his contract.
The Latics managing director Simon Corney has confirmed the player is interested in a move to Boundary Park, although Hull City and Doncaster are reportedly keeping tabs on his situation.
Corney told the Oldham Evening Chronicle: "I have spoken to Sean and he is keen to come here, but whether he does is out of his hands and down to Leeds.
"I would say it is unlikely that anything will happen by the weekend, but in football things can change quickly."
