Everton boss Dave Moyes is understood to be keeping tabs on Oldham winger Chris Taylor, with scouts watching his progress.
The Goodison scouting network have been regular visitors to Boundary Park in order to watch the 20-year-old, who has been a key figure in helping the Latics battle it out for a play-off spot.
With Dutchman Andy van der Meyde tipped to move on from Goodison this summer, Moyes is understood to be looking for a wideman to play down the left.
The Blues boss is likely to want to bring in one major new face in the summer transfer window, as he did with Andy Johnson last year, so the Latics ace may be a cheaper option to enable him to spend most of his money to strengthen elsewhere.
Taylor, who came through the ranks at Oldham, has made over 50 appearances for the League One side - scoring four goals.
