Oldham have been hit by the news Wigan have recalled Tomasz Cywka from his loan spell at Boundary Park due to injuries at the JJB.

The midfielder featured in the 1-0 home defeat to Chesterfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, while he also made four sub appearances in the league. However Wigan boss Paul Jewell has activated a 24-hour recall clause to cope with the loss of several key players.

Paul Scharner is out with a knee injury, while Gary Teale and Antonio Valencia both have hamstring problems. Jewell's selection problems were then intensified on Tuesday evening when Lee McCulloch was handed a three-match ban for admitting to punching Sheffield United captain Chris Morgan during Saturday's 1-0 home defeat.
