Oldham boss John Sheridan has left Boundary Park, the club has confirmed on Sunday.

The announcement comes at the end of a week in which a team night out at Belle Vue dog track in Manchester hit the headlines.

Latics, who were beaten 6-2 by MK Dons on Saturday, have confirmed they are looking to appoint a new man until the end of the season.

Oldham are in eighth place in League One, a point off the play-offs after a run of one win in three matches.
