Robbie Simpson hopes to mark his return to former club Coventry by firing Oldham to a much-needed victory.

Latics have taken only one point from their last six npower League One games and lie four points above the relegation zone in 19th position.

Versatile attacker Simpson bagged a brace as Paul Dickov's men stunned Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup - their only victory since the turn of the year - and he is eager for more of the same at the Ricoh Arena.

"Obviously we're down near the bottom now," he told Press Association Sport. "We kind of think we don't deserve to be there but we are there so it's time to prove that we don't deserve to be there and start picking up some points.

"Starting with Coventry away - Coventry is one of my former clubs. I had a few great years there and I'm really looking forward to going back.

"It'll be good for me to go back there and hopefully I can nick a goal, carry on that bit of scoring form that I've been on in 2013 and we come away with three points."
