Usain Bolt ran the 100m in 9.77 seconds at the IAAF Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava, although the wind speed was over the legal limit.

The double Olympic champion blew away his rivals in the Czech Republic but was unable to capture the event's 100m record due to the wind factor - which remains at 9.85, run by Asafa Powell in 2005.

Although he was slowest out of the blocks, Bolt stormed away from his fellow competitors to once again prove that he is the man to beat at the World Championships in August.

Britain's Craig Pickering, the 2007 Ostrava champion, was impressive in finishing second and clocked a time of 10.08, with Frenchman Ronald Pognon in third.

Meanwhile, Marilyn Okoro produced the best British performance of the night, as she won the women's 800m in a season's outdoor best of 2:00.21.
