James DeGale has promised to silence great rival George Groves - once he has taken care of Matthew Barr on Saturday.

Groves boasts that he beat Britain's Olympic gold medallist at the same London amateur gym - Dale Youth in Hammersmith - and is confident he will do it again.

He has tabled a £50,000 offer to meet DeGale on the undercard of David Haye's world heavyweight title defence against John Ruiz in Manchester on April 3.

Super-middleweight DeGale says he will get around to silencing Groves but knows he must first take care of business at Wembley Arena on Saturday.

The 24-year-old said: "I don't like him one bit, there's always been a rivalry between us.

"He beat me in the amateurs but it was me who went to the Olympic Games in Beijing where I won my gold medal. He has not stopped bleating about it. He will when I beat him."
