WBA light-welterweight king Amir Khan says he is on a mission to take on the likes of Mexican superstar Juan Manuel Marquez.
Khan, who recently left Frank Warren to sign a new promotions deal with Oscar De La Hoya's USA-based Golden Boy Promotions, is determined to become a household name in America.
The Bolton fighter wants to take on a P4P mainstay to prove he can mix it with the elite and become a huge success on the big stage.
He told the Daily Star: "It is my mission to fight men like Marquez and that would be my dream fight in America."
Khan was expected to face Victor Ortiz conqueror Marcos Maidana, but trainer Freddie Roach is not convinced the dangerous Argentinian is a big enough name.
Roach said: "Maidana is not well known enough and there is not enough money in the fight.
"If it gets built up it could be a real big fight so the thing is we are going to fight someone else and they have asked me if we would fight Marquez and I said: 'Yes, we will fight Marquez'."
