Juan Manuel Marquez said he cannot wait to "get down to business" against Floyd Mayweather Jr in their rescheduled September 19 fight.
Mexico's Marquez saw his hopes of an upset against Mayweather Jr dashed when the American superstar, fighting for the first time since his emphatic win against Ricky Hatton in December 2007, picked up a rib injury.
The 12-round bout will be staged at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and WBO and WBA lightweight champion Marquez, who will be fighting on the weekend after Mexican Independence Day, said he will dedicate his win to the people of his homeland.
"I am happy that Mayweather has been cleared to fight and we can get down to business," said Marquez, nicknamed 'Dinamita'.
"I will be fighting for (people) who will have a great reason to celebrate my win over Mayweather, which will be for the entire country of Mexico. I am sure of victory."
Mayweather Jr, who is expected to face Filipino superstar and P4P king Manny Pacquiao if he beats Marquez, added: "I will destroy Marquez and reclaim my rightful place as boxing's pound-for-pound king all in one night.
"I am relieved to be cleared to fight as I was already looking forward to getting back in the ring."
