Oxford's appeal against striker James Constable's red card against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday has been unsuccessful and he will now miss four games.

Constable, who had already been sent off earlier this season, was dismissed for violent conduct for what referee Lee Collins believed was an elbow on Will Antwi with 20 minutes to go against the npower League Two strugglers.

The club appealed against this decision, supported by video evidence, but the appeal was not upheld by the Football Association.

Constable's suspension will begin with Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie against Sheffield United.
