Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson admitted there were not many positives to take from his side's 2-1 home defeat to Brighton.
Will Buckley netted both of Brighton's goals at London Road, the first courtesy of a mistake by Posh goalkeeper Joe Lewis and the second a clinical finish to put Brighton back in front late on, after substitute David Ball had equalised for the hosts.
It is now 16 years since Posh last overcame the Seagulls at London Road and although substitute Ball gave Ferguson's side hope in the second half, Brighton, back into action following Wednesday's FA Cup replay success at Wrexham, always had the edge.
Ferguson said: "[It was a] poor performance on a poor day. We might have deserved a point and it was disappointing to go down at the death but there were too many silly passes and overall our movement just wasn't good enough.
"I felt Joe Lewis might have done better with Brighton's second goal and the wind came from nowhere to affect the first, but it is not right to criticise individuals."
On possible transfers, he added: "I am not going to buy for the sake it and it is up to the players to take responsibility and, putting it bluntly, get their fingers out."
