Utility man Charlie Lee is a doubt ahead of Peterborough's trip to face Cardiff City on Tuesday evening due to a dead leg.
New boss Jim Gannon used Lee as a central midfielder for Saturday's 1-0 win against QPR at London Road in a 3-5-2 formation, before he had to come off at half time with a leg injury. It is now hoped the player, who can also operate anywhere along the back four, will be fit enough to face the Bluebirds at the Cardiff City Stadium.
If Lee fails to make the game then Josh Simpson and Lee Frecklington will battle it out to replace him, while transfer-listed striker Aaron Mclean should play following his winning goal on Saturday. Therefore captain George Boyd will again be used in a free role behind Mclean and Craig Mackail-Smith.
Defender Gabriel Zakuani continues to be sidelined with a groin injury.
