Plymouth have signed Irish defender Carl McHugh on a free transfer from Bradford.

The 21-year-old, who can play at centre-half or left-back, has agreed a two-year deal.

He made a total of 44 appearances for the Bantams, including the 2013 Capital One Cup Cup final, and was also part of their successful 2012/13 promotion campaign.

McHugh joins Reuben Reid, Lee Cox and Deane Smalley in signing for the Pilgrims this summer.
