Double boost for Pilgrims

PlymouthPlymouth have been boosted by the news that defender David McNamee is closing in on a return to fitness following injury.

The right-back has recovered from a torn calf muscle and the Pilgrims are hopeful of having him back sooner rather than later.

"He did some ball-work and we will see what reaction he gets from that," boss Paul Sturrock said of the situation.

Meanwhile, there is also some good news regarding left-back Gary Sawyer, who is close to making a return to training following an operation on a hamstring injury last month.

"Gary is very close to returning to training," added the Pilgrims' boss.
