Plymouth have been hit by the news midfielder Jim Paterson is back on the treatment table after picking up a hamstring injury.

Paterson picked up the injury playing for the Argyle reserves against Salisbury City at Home Park yesterday afternoon and boss Paul Mariner has confirmed the player is facing a spell out.

Mariner was far from happy after watching the second string slip to a 2-1 defeat and the injury to Paterson will not have done anything to lift the boss' mood.

"It was unfortunate," Mariner said. "Jim is an experienced professional. With a hamstring, as soon as you feel something coming, sometimes you can catch it, but, to be frank, it looked as though he didn't catch it."
