Plymouth Argyle January signing Kenny Cooper is hopeful his displays for the Pilgrims can earn him a place in the US World Cup squad.

Cooper joined Argyle until the end of the season on loan from German side 1860 Munich and looks set to win his debut when West Brom travel to Home Park at the weekend.

The 25-year-old is hopeful his displays for Argyle can secure him a place in the US World Cup squad.

He said: "I have had some time with the national team over the last couple of years and it has left me hungry for more of those experiences - especially with the World Cup just around the corner.

"I feel there's a great opportunity to play here and do well. Hopefully that will translate into opportunities with the national team."

Cooper has represented the US ten times in his career so far.
