Plymouth target Maros Klimpl looks set snub the chance of a move to Home Park and join Championship rivals Cardiff City.

Argyle boss Paul Sturrock is known to be keen on the player but it looked as though he would lose out to Aberdeen in race for his signature.

The 28-year-old spent much of last season on loan at Motherwell and Mark McGhee, who is now in charge of the Dons, is understood to be keen to team up with the Slovakian star once again.

But the midfielder, who is currently negotiating his release from Danish outfit FC Midtjylland, is also a target for Cardiff boss Dave Jones and is set for week-long trial with the Welsh club.
