Plymouth striker George Donnelly has joined Southampton on trial but boss Paul Sturrock has ruled out any incoming loan deals.
Saints boss Alan Pardew has been keeping tabs on Donnelly while he has been playing for the reserves and is expected to take him on loan once he has taken a look at him in training.
The 21-year-old needs to get some games under his belt and there is every chance he can get more action at St Mary's.
"George is on trial at Southampton," Sturrock confirmed. "They asked to have a look at him in their own environment, which I have allowed."
Meanwhile Sturrock has also confirmed he will not be adding to his squad before the closure of the loan window on Thursday.
"There won't be anything happening before the deadline," he added.
