Sturrock makes case to fans

PlymouthPaul Sturrock has pleaded with the Home Park faithful to show unity and get behind his Plymouth players.

Argyle crashed 2-0 against Reading on Saturday on the back of a 2-2 home draw with Wolves on the opening day of the Championship season.

Sturrock accepts Plymouth are in for a difficult season but has assured supporters he is working hard behind the scenes to try and bring the players together.

"We're in for a hard season, there are no ifs, buts or maybes about it," Sturrock told the official club website.

"This season is going to be a very difficult one because we're already up and running and still trying to gel a whole squad together."

The Argyle boss added: "I know these fans and I hope they understand what we are trying to achieve. In the end they will dictate whether this team has confidence or not. If they don't get behind this side then it will be a really hard season."
