Timar on road to recovery

PlymouthKrisztian Timar is on course to make the season-opener against Wolves on August 9, according to Plymouth physio Paul Maxwell.

The defender suffered a horror head injury on the final day of last season and underwent major surgery in May. However, he joined his team-mates for the first day of pre-season training on Thursday and is ready to prove his fitness.

"He is obviously trying to ease back in, just like everybody," Maxwell explained to the official club website.

"We have obviously spoken during the summer and he has come back feeling really good.

"I will be speaking to the surgeon in the next couple of days and we are hoping to get some head protection for him when the ball work starts, which will probably be Monday.

"We will start with impact work using soft balls before progressing. Hopefully, he will be ok with the mental side of things as well and should be there or thereabouts by the start of the season."
