Port Vale boss Martin Foyle claims that the win over Gillingham on Tuesday night was probably the most important result of the season.

Pressure has been mounting on the boss especially after the exit to Hereford in the FA Cup last weekend so the three points were a big relief.

He said: "It was nervy, you could feel the tension in the changing room, but hopefully this win will just give us that little lift now.

"It is a boost for the club. The chairman has stuck by me and, believe me, you find out who your friends are.

"This was the most important win, but now let's hope we have a couple more important ones and push up that table," he told the Sentinal.
