Chairman Bill Bratt insists Port Vale's plans to finish the Lorne Street Stand development for over £2m will not jeopardise the club.
The League One outfit have revealed plans to split the stand into three developments with a £976,500 children's centre on the ground floor, a £829,000 enterprise centre for small businesses on the middle floor and a Robbie Williams Suite on the top floor with entertainment and banqueting facilities.
Bratt hopes the development will be completed by March 2008 and insists the club's financial future will remain sound given that the North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone will chip in with £500,000 and Stoke-on-Trent City Council will provide £720,000 towards the overall costs.
Despite having to pay just over £1million out of their own coffers, Bratt told the Sentinel: "We have to take our opportunities when they come. We have worked hard to get these grants and won't get the chance again.
"It's a lot of work and we will have to be vigilant and tight on prices so it doesn't overrun. We will not be putting the club in jeopardy."
