Port Vale have extended the loan spell of Nottingham Forest midfielder Ross Gardner after he impressed at Vale Park.

The youngster has struggled through injury during his first month with the club but Vale boss Martin Foyle says he has done enough to impress and earn an extended stay.

"He has a lovely attitude and just wants to play," the Vale boss told the Stoke Sentinel. "I think he can offer us something as he gives us a bit more mobility and a bit more pace.

"Also, he can play all across the midfield and doesn't mind playing in those different positions."
