Striker Michael Husbands has again pleaded with boss Martin Foyle to give him a regular opportunity in the Port Vale first team.

The 23-year-old, who was back on the bench for Tuesday's 2-0 home win over Gillingham after recovering from a stomach strain, is looking to partner 14-goal top-scorer Leon Constantine ahead of Akpo Sodje.

He told the Sentinel: "The manager knows what I'm capable of. If he gives me a chance, I'll take it.

"I had played with the problem for a while but it wasn't getting any better so I had to take a couple of weeks out.

"I'm just waiting for that opportunity and will keep doing my best in training."
