Vale Park is set for a massive transformation after the Valiants agreed three funding packages worth a total of £750,000.

Chairman Bill Bratt revealed the plans at the club's AGM and it appears that, although the contracts have yet to be signed, the deals will see the Lorne Street Stand completed as well as a new classroom and gymnasium built at the Hamil Road end of the ground.

Bratt assured fans that the clubs financial survival would not be in danger as a result of the work, which will cost in the region of £2million.

"But we aren't going to put the club in jeopardy, we'll do it when we have the money.

"We'll do it as we go and hopefully, in 18 months, it will be all finished. But we have to ensure we can finish the job, or the grants will be reclaimed."

However, Bratt said he was overjoyed to have secured the funding. He said: "It has been a lot of hard work. It doesn't just come into the club, it has taken 18 months of work to try to get it."

Vale fans will surely be delighted that their home for the last 56 years is set for a revamp, especially with the chairman being so careful to avoid any financial problems arising as a result.
