Adams confirms Harry stance

PortsmouthAssistant boss Tony Adams has reiterated that manager Harry Redknapp has no intentions of leaving Portsmouth in the near future.

The Pompey chief was quoted in the national press on Monday denying reports that he was all set to quit Fratton Park for a return to his former club West Ham. And Adams followed that denial up by revealing Redknapp, who guided the club to FA Cup glory, remains committed to them and talk of a move to Upton Park was just people looking to stir things up.

Adams, speaking at an England fans' forum hosted by international team sponsors Nationwide Building Society, told Setanta Sports: "Journalists come up with things, maybe a bit of stirring the West Ham kind of side.

"But he has had an opportunity at Newcastle and turned that down and I think he is committed to Portsmouth."
