Harry Redknapp is looking to bring in a few more players after Peter Crouch passed a medical and agreed to join Portsmouth for £11m.
The Pompey boss is delighted to finally capture the England international from Liverpool after a lengthy battle to lure the lanky hitman from Anfield.
And with Crouch set for a return to play for his former club in the new Premier League campaign, Redknapp is now setting his sights on more team strengthening with a wide player, central midfielder and left-back still on his wanted list.
He told the News: "We are still trying to get a few more, the squad needs strengthening up. We could have a lot of games to play next season with Europe.
"I just think we need to strengthen a few positions if we can.
"If we can get probably another two or three we will be strong, very strong.
"Just a few more, that's all. We know our targets and Peter (Storrie) is working hard on it."
Meanwhile Crouch's arrival could spell the end of David Nugent's time at Fratton Park after a disappointing year on the south coast following his £6million move from Preston last summer. Premier League new boys Hull and Stoke are thought to be fighting it out for his signature.
