Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of former Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old midfielder rejected a new deal at Fratton Park after becoming frustrated at a lack of first team-opportunities and uncertainty surrounding the ownership and management at the club.

Davis chose to allow his contract to run down so he could move elsewhere and he has decided to link up with former Pompey team-mates Matt Taylor and Andy O'Brien at the Reebok Stadium.

Bolton boss Gary Megson, who saw a £3million bid for Davis knocked back in January, has now made the former Fulham and Spurs midfielder his first signing of the summer transfer window in a move which has been agreed for some time but could only be sealed once the transfer window reopened on July 1.
