Pompey defender Marc Wilson has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal with the club.

The 22-year-old defender has already been at the club for seven years, having signed on as a schoolboy and finally established himself as a first-team regular this season.

Wilson insists he is happy on the South Coast, despite the on and off-field struggles the club have been through this season.

"I've always wanted to stay at Pompey," he told the club's official website.

"This is my seventh year here and I really enjoy it.

"The fans are great and I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else."
