Avram Grant insists he will not give up his role as Portsmouth boss despite the club's off-field issues.

Pompey suffered a 5-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday but Grant refused to give in and insists his side will continue to fight.

"Positive thinking is always better than negative thinking and as long as we have the chance we will fight," said Grant. "It is more difficult for us than other teams but sometimes difficult is a challenge. For me it's a challenge."

Throughout January speculation surrounded Grant's own future at Fratton Park, with some suggesting he was ready to walk away.

However, the former Chelsea boss insisted he has no plans to walk away from Portsmouth.

He added: "It would have been easy to go and no-one could blame me if I left a few weeks ago or one week ago but it is not my way. I want to show this character because it is important for the future of the club."
